Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to return to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
