Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
