Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
