Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
This online marketplace has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Response
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.
Sizing System Changes
Earlier, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Member Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
